A charity table quiz, to raise funds for ISPCC, the Special Olympics Ireland, and the National Youth Foundation takes place on Tuesday July 21 at 8pm at the Loft at Seven, Bridge Street.

The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) has now firmly established March as its anti-bullying awareness month, of which our blue Shield is the symbol. Throughout March a series of articles will be run in the Mayo Advertiser looking at the topic.

Last Friday morning, the ISPCC in Mayo hosted a launch of its outcomes for its work in 2014. The charity provides a wide ranging sweep of services to both parents and children throughout the county. While these events can be fact filled, but unmemorable affairs, the personal stories told by users of the services that they provide, outlined in crystal clear words the work that is carried out by the ISPCC in Mayo and the effect it has on those who use the service.

Do you have some spare time and want to volunteer with one of the most worthwhile charities in the country? Then the ISPCC Mayo has the role for you. ISPCC Mayo is currently recruiting people for two different volunteer roles, in either Childline or the ISPCC advocacy role.

A table quiz to raise funds for the ISPCC Childline takes place in The Stock Exchange Bar, Shop Street, on Wednesday at 7pm.
